Thomas Anthony Brocklebank
Brocklebank
(1908–1984)
Tom Brocklebank was a climbing member of the 1933 expedition, for which he was recommended by Longstaff, and provided creditable support up to Camp V.
Like Irvine, Brocklebank was a rower at Oxford; he was, however, a more seasoned mountaineer, with three alpine seasons under his belt by the time he joined the Everest expedition. From 1934 to 1961, he was a teacher at Eton College.
